I'm sitting here, with Luke by my side. I am in major need of motivation to take down the Christmas decorations, finish the pile of laundry in my room and take some old "things" to Goodwill. I have so enjoyed my time off and am soaking in every minute with Zac and Luke. In T-minus 3 days, I will be back at work, counting the days that I have until my maternity leave. I enjoy teaching and the challenges it poses, but ultimately, I just love being a wife and a mommy. I enjoy playing with Luke, taking care of him (even with the tantrums), having the time to actually make a tasty meal and spending an hour or two with Zac after he's gotten home from a long day at work. Everything about being a stay-at-home mom. That is a job in and of itself, a thankless job. But, one that I really want. The bain of my existence are my student loans. Once those are paid off, that dream will become a reality. So, unless I somehow win the lottery, which I don't play, it won't happen any time soon.
That's ok, I will enjoy my life currently how it is, with the piles of laundry I can't seem motivated to finish and the Christmas decorations just begging to be put away until next Christmas. For now, I will cherish my snuggling and ability to have time to go shopping and make a great meal for my family. (By the way, I just made a wonderful Pork and Veggie Roast that I saw on the Food Network. It was easy, and delicious! Slight changes I would make would be, 1/2 the salt required, cut the carrots and potatoes a little smaller and not reduce the au jus as much, only for a minute or two. ) For some reason, the blog won't let me post the link...Just Google JKL Pesto Pork and Veggie Roast. It will pop right up and is delicious!
