Ryan's First Haircut!

After many people urging me to have Ryan's hair cut, I finally gave in. Another big milestone in his life has come and gone. With both Luke and Ryan, I got sentimental and a little sad knowing that those cute little soft wisps were going to be cut off. It's funny really, something so small can make a mom sad. It makes our babies look not-so-little anymore. But, as soon as it is over, they look older and even cuter than before. Ryan (as usual) was such a good boy for his first cut. (Unlike the poor little two year old next to us; who was SCREAMING and CRYING his head off. The poor little guy was terrified, tears streaming down his face, snot as well. His father at first was calmly telling him it would be ok, and gradually, it became a more agitated and angry, "just be quiet, you are fine" tone. All of us moms in the room wanted to sweep him up and stop the whole thing for him. I don't know about you, but once the first scream and tear fell, I would have stopped the whole thing and tried again another day. But, hey...that's just me.)
Luke wanted to come and get his "hair cut" too, but he has a double ear infection and I didn't want to deal with an accidental bump of the ear and possible upset from him. So, Ryan and I ventured off together. After waiting for over 30 minutes to get his hair cut, we were escorted to the cute little yellow car for him to sit in. He just looked around and was really just wondering what was going on. Carly, the hairstylist, sprayed his hair with water and combed it down. Once the first cut was done (and my heart melted a little), the cut was fairly quick and easy. She asked if I wanted it styled at the end, so I decided on a cute "faux hawk." It's not like I'm going to style his hair every day, so I took the opportunity. (Later, Zac commented on how silly he thought it was...I thought it was cute.)
Ryan siting patiently for his haircut. Really, he was probably freaking out inside because of the hysterical toddler next to him.
Getting sprayed with water.
The very first cut...sniffle, sniffle.
Not quite knowing what was happening when she styled his hair with product. :)
Ta-da! Done!
My little sickie. :(
