On Wednesday, I had my doctor's appointment to check my progress and he was pleasantly surprised (as was I considering I was figuring to NOT have made any progress at all...) and said that I will most likely deliver early. Fingers crossed he's right! I measured almost a cm dialated, 80% effaced and -2 station (Not bad for 36 weeks-he mentioned that he wishes all patients looked as good as I did at my stage!) Yippee! I figure with over 30 years experience and the fact that he was right with my friend (and her friends) at predicting due dates, I'm in good hands. But, at the same time, I am not pinning my hopes on his every word. I'm realistic, but thinking positive thoughts.
My first day off "officially," was on Wednesday and I have been enjoying being able to sleep in. Since my sleep has been very segmented at best, it is nice to not have to wake to an alarm. Today, my Mom came up and we went out shopping all day to try and get a few odds and ends. I also ordered some items online using the gift cards I was given for a pack 'n play, diaper bag (kind of a necessity) and a small white bookcase to place the books I have so far that are currently taking up space in the closet. Hopefully, they will all arrive on Monday so that I can get the room completed. Once that happens, I will post a finished room picture. :)
Also on Wednesday, I took Amber for another follow-up doctor's appointment to make sure that all of the fluid was gone and it was! The doctors were all so pleased to see her and see how well she has been doing. They gave her the ok to get back into her normal regimen of walking/running/playing that she was accustomed to. So yesterday, Zac and I walked up to Subway with Amber for dinner. It was nice to be able to take her for a longer walk than she has been able to have. She enjoyed it immensely as did we. We girls both need our exercise!
This weekend will be packed! Tomorrow, Zac and I will be going out to dinner with my Dad and Carolyn for a belated birthday dinner to Ciao Pasta (don't be jealous Elisha!) (I felt bad, Zac's birthday was last Friday the 24th and I was sick!) Zac might be working a little tomorrow and I am hoping to get motivated to get some cleaning and gardening done. On Sunday, we will be going to Jana and Marcus' daughter, Dillen's baptism in Orange. They are members of the same church as my Aunt Kellie and Uncle Steve. We are looking forward to seeing Jana, Marcus and Dillen and enjoying the special occasion! Later that day, we will be going to Zac's parents house for a barbecue to celebrate Ken and Zac's birthdays.
Hope you all are doing well!
