Sweet Homecoming and St. Paddy's Day!

Well, Amber is finally home. They took out the chest tube this morning and decided that perhaps the reason it was still producing fluid was because of the tube irritating her chest cavity itself. Of course, we are to keep a VERY watchful eye on her eating habits, breathing, sleeping, demeanor, etc. If anything changes we are to let them know immediately. Fingers crossed (and many prayers) that she continues to improve and that no more medical interventions are required!

The doctor also suggested that perhaps with her being at home in her familiar surroundings, she will improve also. We have been given a laundry list of do's and don'ts as well as medication to be given to her over the next month. All well worth it to see her improve and be at home with us. Her absence was taking a toll on us both. Isn't it amazing how attached you can get to a pet? She (and Ralphie) are truly our "kids."

Attached is a picture of Amber resting. We can tell that she probably had a difficult time sleeping at the hospital being that there were so many distractions and it just simply wasn't her home. Thanks to all who gave her well wishes!

Zac also has been celebrating her homecoming in unison with St. Patrick's Day drinking! Perhaps, he is making up for his lack of Irish heritage, by drinking and celebrating for the BOTH of us, as I actually do have Irish in me! :)
