chillin' with the kids (aka Amber and Ralphie)

Well, I finally went back to work this week. My long-term sub, Janet, was WONDERFUL and I couldn't have asked for anything more! I was able to come into my class and just worry about teaching! All of the groundwork was laid and the kids know the routine. And, I am so lucky that my students this year are very kind. The only bad thing is that my feet aren't used to standing for seven hours a day and hurt! I'm glad to be back in the groove of things and working with my friends. I have missed them so much!

Thursday marked an interesting time for me...in the morning I was able (albeit with force) to fully zip and button my pants (although it wasn't all that comfortable, so I used a Bella Band that Elisha recommended which helps keep pants up). By the afternoon, I could only zip up my pants half way and buttoning was impossible. Of course, this is with my jeans. So, I went out today and bought two pairs of maternity pants that I could wear now, but grow into as well. This is a hard feat since the pants are never long enough. I did, however, find something that will work and not look rediculous.

Last night, Zac and I went to a dinner/party that my friend Jana was throwing. It was so great to see our friends Jana and Marcus. We haven't seen them since the OC Fair in August. Both of our lives have been hectic. Jana's cute little baby bump is adorable! She is 26 weeks and looking wonderful! It was funny to listen to Zac and Marcus talk of the life that will be quickly approaching with a new child in the house. Oh those boys!

Early this morning Zac woke up to go on a day trip off-roading with his Dad and the four wheeling group he has joined. So, the kiddos and I have been sleeping and laying around the house while the temperature is finally dropping below 60F for once! It is hilarious to hear people in Orange County talk about how FREEZING it is outside. Zac and I have been laughing watching the girls walking around with boots, jeans, jacket, scarf, the works! It's not cold people! It is colder than it's been, but not cold, and certainly not freezing! "When I was a kid... I'd walk to school with flipflops on and before I knew it, I'd be walking home in the snow..."

Hope all are doing well and that you are staying warm (for those of you that actually ARE in a cold region) and healthy!
